One of the most musically gratifying things for me is providing special pieces for weddings or anniversary parties. When a couple has a favorite song or songs, not in the standard classical repertoire, I really enjoy being able to enhance their special day by arranging them for flute and whichever other instruments are playing with me. I've had requests such as Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers (flute, violin, & cello), The Ludlows by James Horner from the movie, "Legends of the Fall" (flute & violin), and Imagine by John Lennon (flute & cello). These requests turn into lovely arrangements that I can then add to my repertoire for others to enjoy in the future. Music really does set the mood for the occasion, and it feels great to make people happy with unique and memorable melodies.
